Why registrations get rejected
| Problem | What reviewers see | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Name does not match IRS records | Brand details cannot be verified | Use the exact legal name and EIN |
| No visible opt-in | No proof people agreed to texts | A web form with an unchecked, optional consent box and the required wording |
| Missing privacy and texting terms | No statement that mobile numbers are not shared | Privacy Policy and Text Messaging Terms pages linked from the form |
| Vague campaign description | Unclear what will be sent | Specific use, sample messages with STOP and HELP language |
| Website not live or does not match | Business cannot be confirmed | A working site that shows the same business details |
Texting the right way
- Get consent first. Text only people who agreed, or who texted you first about their own request.
- Say who you are. Start conversations with your business name.
- Make it easy to stop. Honor STOP right away and answer HELP with your contact details.
- Keep records. Store when and how each person opted in.
- Avoid shortened links. Use links on your own domain.
Texting with your phone system
Most businesses get the best results when texting lives in the same place as calls: a cloud phone system or contact center platform with texting built in, so every conversation is on the customer’s record. If you already use Microsoft Teams, ask about texting options that work with Teams Phone.
