Four wired networks in one small city
Raytown joined Google Fiber’s metro build in 2013, and today the FCC map shows Google Fiber and Everfast Fiber with high coverage, AT&T fiber with moderate coverage, and both cable companies, Xfinity and Spectrum, with high coverage. Most cities in the metro have one cable company. Raytown has two.
That competition helps on price. It helps even more with reliability, because you can run your main line on fiber and your backup on a cable network that shares nothing with it.
A simple setup that works for most Raytown businesses
- Main line: Google Fiber, Everfast or AT&T fiber, for the same speed up and down.
- Backup line: Xfinity or Spectrum cable, or 5G, on a different network.
- Failover: a router or firewall that switches automatically. See backup internet.
- Phones: a cloud phone system that forwards to cell phones if both lines are down.
For larger sites that need a service level agreement, we compare dedicated internet too.
Shops and service businesses along the main corridors
Raytown’s businesses are mostly local shops, restaurants, auto and trade services, and offices along its main roads. Many still have copper phone lines for alarms or fax. When those lines are retired or the bill jumps, POTS line replacement keeps the same numbers working on a modern connection.
About the provider data. The network list on this page comes from the FCC’s Broadband Data Collection (availability as of December 2025). The FCC counts a provider as available in an area when it reports it can serve locations there, so a network on the map may still need to build to your building. We check each one at your address before you compare prices.
